As far as I know, those other types of AI were a thing programmed by people to act in a certain way when given specific parameters, where OpenAI steals its “ideas” from creators on a massive scale.

And to be clear, I’m talking specifically about OpenAI and its ilk, not other things AI might mean in relation to video games.

And that’s bad for indie developers, too. They’re the ones with new ideas. And now when something is mildly popular, AI models will just throw that into its algorithm for larger companies to use and make much more money off of.

I mean, by design, AI just pulls whatever it can from huge databases and rolls them together without any attention paid to how “good” the end result is. The more we use AI, the more we’re just regurgitating things that have already been done.

And as far as games go, large AAA games are already overly homogenized in an attempt to appeal to more and more people, and that’ll get much worse the more big companies (like Larian) use AI.

and they’re doing everything they can to MAKE it be the future.

then people higher up the ladder start expecting more in less time, since everyone’s using AI anyway. Managers, CEOs and others at the top don’t say AI is the future because they really think it’s inevitable. They say that because it means they’ll be able to squeeze out more product for less money,

I don’t necessarily hold anything against single people using AI to make things a little easier in the workplace (though it's wasteful, I understand a pressured employee's struggle), but it does open up a can of worms. First, workers in a large firm/corporation/etc. decide to use AI to work quicker,

...if all they’re using it for is inspiration, then how is using AI any better than just being inspired by the things you’ve loved…like they did with Divinity: Original Sin, Divinity: Original Sin 2, and Baldur’s Gate 3?

Haven't tried gritty difficulty yet. This makes me even more scared.

I always see this game at the bottom (or close to the bottom) of ranked Zelda game lists. But goddamn, it's a great game. Still can't beat it, but I love it! I'm convinced it's Dark Souls before Dark Souls.

I wrote this first (by accident) in your quote post commending BlueSky interactions. Sorry if you got 2 notifications.
