You aren't experiencing things that nobody else has. We've all experienced this to some degree or another. Stop isolating yourself in your queer bubble and go out in the world and connect with other people, and you'll figure that out.

I hate to tell you all this, but in TYOOL 2025, being "Queer" isn't special. AT ALL.

Sam across the street realized the political beliefs he held earlier in his life were poisonous, and changed his mind about a lot of stuff. His family disowned him, and he's desperately alone now.

Things you call "queer coded" are just normal, everyday experiences we all share.

You're gay and people don't accept you? Yes, that sucks, but you're not special. Debra down the hall found Christ and her atheist friends all rejected her afterwards, and she felt alienated afterwards.

So what, the Matrix was inspired by The Wachowskis struggling with their emerging trans identities. Guess what? Struggling with identity isn't just a trans thing. EVERYONE struggles with this. That's why the movie escaped queer containment. It was REALLY GOOD and resonated with EVERYONE.

And if you happen to be queer, that’s just who you are. No plot twist hidden in your Netflix history.

Nah, let’s file it under an identity spreadsheet and pretend it’s a revolutionary act.

Spoiler: Being queer is fine. No coding needed. Watching a movie doesn’t make you part of a secret club. You just...
...Like movies.

Soon, we’ll discover that liking pizza is "aromantic-coded." Owning socks is "poly-coded" and walking your dog is "sapphic-coded with a side order of fries and extra ketchup." Because why let a perfectly ordinary human experience be...
...Ordinary?
August 13, 2025 at 6:39 PM
It’s just like breathing, drinking water, or enjoying a nice breeze: totally normal human things, except now we’re slapping a special label on them so someone on X can write a 47-tweet thread explaining why "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift" is a metaphor for queer liberation.

Apparently, movies are "queer-coded" now.

That’s right: sit your hetero ass down, because the moment you watched "The Mummy" and thought, "Wow, Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz are both absurdly attractive" you were actually participating in a secret identity ritual.
