I'm not sure of your point here. But personally I attended high school AND college in rural America.

Certainly, there are urbanites who sneer at those in rural areas. But assholes exist everywhere. Rural Americans seem far more obsessed, to me.

I hate the trope about "elites looking down their noses at rural folks lives". I lived in rural areas, and believe me, there was plenty of disdain there for the way urbanites lived *their* lives. It's not a one-way thing and in any case doesn't excuse fascism.

I'm confused. I thought the problem was that companies *couldn't* legally discriminate in their hiring. Why attack a company for exercising their right to hire who they choose to?
