That sucks, and the only reason I can think of is FOMO, I'd much rather have a print to demand for this so everyone can get it especially with the current way tcgs are getting scalped to death right now

Especially when talking about IT in a company whose devs consistently don't know how to clear cache and cookies or troubleshoot a damn monitor. But yes, desktop support with certifications is definitely unskilled and repetitive comparatively
