I am so sad to learn that my respected colleague Senator Anderson has passed away. We served together on the Judiciary and Public Safety Committee for many years. His was a calm, informed and thoughtful voice. His presence in the Senate will be missed.

The late, great Senator Paul Wellstone was born 81 years ago today. There was no greater champion for the needs of Minnesotans, and he is sorely missed. Thinking of him today and always.

Moments ago we passed our DWI reform bill unanimously off the Senate floor. These changes will help prevent something like what happened at the Park Tavern from ever happening again in any community in Minnesota. I look forward to the Governor signing it into law soon.
