I would say try it in a virtual environment through something like Virtual Box so you don't have to go through a full blown system install. Try any like that to see which works for you.

I have only briefly tried it but Linux Mint was fairly user friendly and similar in UI/feel to windows. But if gaming is the focus, maybe try Bazzite. I haven't tried that one yet but I'm probably going to test that one soon.
