This week is Gender Equality Week, it is not just a time to reflect and celebrate but a time to act. Women still remain underrepresented in leadership, and too many face violence and inequities. As Parliament resumes, we must place equality at the centre of our work.

As Nelson Mandela once said, "our youth are the best investment we can make for the future. Nurture and educate them, lift them up and let them lead." Today marks International Youth Day. In my work, I ensure that youth voices are heard, recognizing them as essential to creating a fairer society.

Canada has immense energy needs, that is why I asked Mr. Keith Jansa, the CEO of the Digital Governance Council, about Bill C-5 and how the proposed changes in the legislation will strengthen our digital economy, particularly our AI infrastructure in Canada.

This is a notable milestone in protecting children's rights in our country and I urge parliamentarians to make children’s rights a priority in the 45th Parliament.

Today, I began 2nd reading of my Bill S-212. Children and youth deserve a thoughtful national approach to their well-being. They deserve a strategy. This bill calls on the government to take steps towards this reality.
