As an expert skier for 20 years, I skied Whistler back in 1983. Anyone wearing blue jeans on a ski hill, were referred to as "Blue Jean Brigade". They were avoided like the plague as they were terrible skiers causing mishaps. Real skiers wore appropriate ski clothing and jeans were amateur wear.
