Put him at third base and bring in Baty for defense in late innings (if he's still around). Not only did we get a solid righty bat to balance the top half of the order, but we screwed the Phillies, which is almost as good. And he's way cheaper than Tucker. Call this a W for the front office.

I didn't say we were perfect. 😄
January 16, 2026 at 3:04 PM
I think his price just went up substantially. But I agree, we need his bat and a left fielder.

Me too.

I really don't think a blister on your trigger finger should count as "internal bleeding."

Or just pull out ICE and everybody goes back into their homes. Problem solved.

This is bullshit. More of this dictatorship's stomping on constitutional freedoms.
January 14, 2026 at 8:42 PM
Acuna, Semien, Alvy and Vientos all bat righty, and Lindor switch-hits. But you're right, the top half of the order would be lefty-heavy -- Baty, Lindor, Tucker, Soto. But I'm with you. I think we need him regardless.

If there ends up being a bidding war for this guy, the Mets should be willing to get in it and win it. The 2026 team is a watered-down version of last year's team, and look how that went. @mets.com #LGM

I thought the Constitution says Congress controls the money. Oh wait, Trump ripped up the Constitution.
January 14, 2026 at 4:38 PM
Shocking.
January 13, 2026 at 11:08 PM
I thought it was supposed to be $200 million. Maybe Trump should subpoena himself over cost overruns on a federal building.

I just followed you. I like the variety of opinions, whether I agree with all of them or not. (And BTW, I agree with you on your point about not chasing bad contracts.)
January 13, 2026 at 2:47 PM
Was that the last time we won a game?

I always chastise people to read the story before they comment. And then here I went and commented without reading the story.

Assuming Toronto keeps that winning percentage, which they likely won't. Still plenty of time, but with this team, it doesn't look good.

I seriously want to know why putting a man on the moon again is so hard. We first did it in 1969 -- 57 years ago -- when computers were in their infancy and they were making calculations on slide rules and pencil and paper. Has the moon gotten further away or something?

Successor, not predecessor.

It's a start. Next move to a ban on murdering innocent civilians.

Saw Barry up close during warm-ups of a Ranger game in Hartford many years ago when I was about 16 or 17. It was right then that I decided not to play pro hockey because there was no way I was going on the same playing surface as anyone that big! Best wishes #5 on successful treatment and recovery.

How do you report it to GoFundMe?
January 12, 2026 at 6:59 PM
Rangers will win 5-1 tonight in Seattle and everyone will settle down. It's a .500 team. Not great. Not always good. Definitely not broken.
January 12, 2026 at 6:55 PM
You let him get away with this sh*t for a full year when it was obvious to everyone he was mad with power. NOW you're expressing angst and reservations? That horse is out of the barn. The only remedy is the midterms replacing all you fkking cowards who didn't stand up to him when it counted.
January 12, 2026 at 4:10 PM
He knows we all saw the videos of this guy murdering this poor woman, so Vance has to fabricate a reason why the feds won't do a damn thing to him. And of course, the MAGA morons will repeat this and be comforted by it.
