Should go an old fashioned, direct route and just start dropping info sheets from the air in the parts of the US that's unlikely to be informed - skip the media channels that usually just keep folks in their info bubbles...(amd make 'em out of seed paper so they're not harming the environment!)

Be wary. This sounds like setting up Phase 2. Phase 1 - "shock & awe", which they know will cause a backlash...eventually; Phase 2 - the "quiet", kinder, caring alternative, designed to keep them in power...but I'm just thinking out loud here...
