After building probably 80% of the big capital city of Bowmore (I'll share more pics of that when it's really complete) I took a break to build Laphroaig, a suburb centered around a small historic village @colossalorder.fi #NewIslay #citiesskylines #citiesskylines2

Federal triangle is a small office complex in DC between the mall and white house. The french office assets in cs2 get pretty close aesthetically, at least from a distance, to recreate some of that vibe for my capital

The presidential palace in warsaw is really cool. You’re walking down the road and all of a sudden it’s right there. A big difference from the separation the WH gets in DC haha. The French city hall asset in cs2 is kinda small, so i plopped some wall to wall offices to make the scale better

this weekend i built Bunnahabhain, which will be a suburb of the capital city. it's larger than the previous villages & sits on a rail line. i extended rail up the river valley to Ardbeg and built a new train station & admin complex there #citiesskylines #citiesskylines2 #NewIslay @colossalorder.fi

used ~4 hours of pto this morning to expand the mountainous highway network to support a future beltway system above the river where the big city will go. there wasn't an outside connection where i wanted, so basically connect A, B, & C

the vanilla default boot for the map. a large valley between two mountain ranges at the confluence of 2 rivers. there are yellow letters for A at the top of the map, B across the river further down, and C again across the river to the left a wide angle shot from above of the river valley as i have expanded the highway system. there is a highway leading from the top, which splits to snake its way along the base of the mountain range with one direction, while the other direction descends to the river to a bridge crossing. at the bottom left of the image a diamond interchange connects the new mountain pass to the pre-existing dual carriageway a close to ground level view of the mountainside highway with large bridge spanning across the descending terrain as mountain turns into valley. in the distance on the right side, down at river level, another dual carriage way is in sight from the opposite side, the highway continues from bottom to top in the image, where one fork tunnels underneath a protruding ridge extending from the mountain. a converging highway passes overtop on the ridge and then snakes its way down the hill and joins with the lower highway

I started out simply terraforming a village plaza/center around the pre-existing old cemetery ruins the mapbuilder put in

Then it became an attempt to create some old pre-modern outpost with the large protruding fortress-looking vantage point

i started a new city called New Islay
no unlimited money - holy crap it was hard to become profitable while maintaining bucolic vibes
