Every summer we grow a bunch of tomatoes and basil so I spent a day making homemade pasta sauce to freeze with the extra tomatoes and basil.

Which brings me to why the house smells like summer right now...

Unrelated, my new policy is that if I happen to come across a post on here with a pic of a cross-stitch WIP, I will like it.

MA, seeing me in pj pants and a sweatshirt: "have you given up on life?"

He forgot that it's pj day lol.

(But yeah, 2025 came very close to breaking me and there's still another week to go, so plenty of time to finally crack under the stress/weight of it all.)

Day after Christmas Day. Back at work. Even less traffic this AM than Christmas Eve. We declared today "wear your pj's to work day" but I have a change of professional clothes just in case I need to see a patient.

(It's an admin day for me, which I desperately need. I'm so behind.)

Hubs and I (we don't have kids) just do stockings for each other for Christmas and as the years have passed, it's gone from just stockings to stockings and overflow bags lol.

My family is celebrating Christmas together the first weekend of January because it's some work for my brother's family to get to the rest of us. So today is low key.

Right now it's just the fire and me.

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!

Home from a 12-hour day in clinic to homemade smoked salmon Caesar salad, champagne, and some absolutely beautiful flowers from hubs' brother and SIL.

Feet are up.
Christmas movies on.
Finally exhaling from a very long day.

Bright side: traffic was lighter than average.
Sending positive vibes to everyone working today and tomorrow.

It's been a bit of a rough and sad day at work (sometimes medicine is really hard on your heart) so I'm gonna head home and stuff my face with sushi and drink some brut cava and try to forget.

Weekend to recovery from today and then I'll bounce back on Monday, ready to go. As always.

I just want to say that I 1000% blame the Ducks for the Seahawks jerseys tonight.

It's here: our lists of the most checked-out books of the year! In 2025, Seattle read a bunch of local authors, a wildly popular romantasy, and some older titles with a lasting impact.

See the lists @seattletimes.com: www.seattletimes.com/entertainmen...

Borb season is here.
A robin in a frosty Forest of Dean. The most obvious and cheering of all #winterbirds.

The one time I actually remember a reusable grocery bag and the store is giving away one free reusable grocery bag per customer today.

Welcome to perimenopause, I hope you didn't like sleeping.

Someone showed me an AI video of a flooded I-5 near downtown Seattle and I now know why my MIL from out of state called us very worried last night. Sigh.

(I made the commute home on that stretch of road tonight. Traffic was bad but I assure you it was not at all flooded.)

Lol no.
Cafes across the U.S. are embracing the low- and no-caffeine lifestyle, with options that are a far cry from dusty tea bags and rewarmed decaf. nyti.ms/3XKlqoj

Ok so there was a lot of not great but there was also a lot of laughter and joy. I'm choosing to bring that into 2026. Even though I suspect the not great will also follow.

But isn't that life? There's light because there's darkness.

My brain is fried. Clearly.
I got pushed an astrology video that said that for my sign, something that happens today will reflect the way that the coming year will be.

So far, I want nothing to do with next year...

This week is beating me down. Time to find some chocolate.

Saw the news about WSU's football coach and my heart hurts for them.

College football is just not what it used to be. I know that makes me sound old but it's true.

I thought that this was a joke or AI. WT everloving F.

We were going to buy a pass in late Oct of this year for travel but the government shutdown meant we couldn't visit those sites so we didn't. I may go buy one now so I don't have to own one of these.
The 2026 park pass is… cringy.

Today is #WorldAIDSDay.

I'm thinking about a good friend who I lost years ago to complications from this disease. I miss him so much.

We've come so far and still have so far to go.
