Eilean Donan Castle - 13th century castle on a small island in the Kyle of Lochalsh, Scotland. The Castle is bathed in light compared to the blue hue of the surrounding country side and the water.

Whilst in London this weekend I also got to see the Leigh Bowery exhibition at Tate Modern.
Three red podiums hold a range of intricate colourful brocaded costumes/artworks/outfits made and worn by Leigh Bowery. The outfits all have full face masks with eyes and mouth cut out revealing black fabric of the dummy underneath. The arms are bent at the elbow hands. A photographic portrait of Leigh Bowery in apple green satin bodice. He lips are painted red and black along with red eye make up redolent of Chinese opera. He has blue trickling down his shaven head towards his eyes. Leigh Bowery skull photographic portrait. Leigh wear a skull atop his head attached by a black ribbon which tues under his chin on a bow. In stylised white and black make up of of a doll Leigh has attached a bright red shiny mouthpiece in front of his mouth using large safety pins which piece his cheeks. Leigh is dressed in a wet look rubber fetish garment which covers him completely. With his hand of hip he strikes a catwalk pose his leading leg has foot wear fused into leg creating a wedge shape which hides the foot. He wears six inch heeled platform shoe on his other foot. He wears a long black pony tail raised high on his head which appears out of his mask.

A very hungry caterpillar in the garden tonight.
A yellow and black banded caterpillar munches through a leaf. It is in curled reverse c shape it’s back end anchored above as it’s body curls downwards its head end hangs lower as it eats.

Some floating creatures from the garden today
An open wing comma butterfly on budleia flower - the butterfly is rich russet colour with dark brown flecks and lacy outer edge to its wing structure - it lies basking in the sun on a rich pink budleia flower A shy and rather disheveled looking underwing of a meadow brown - it’s lower wing is damaged and upper wing is a muted orange with an eyespot - it is hanging upside down from a pink budleia flower The gorgeous blue shimmering underwing of a peacock butterfly hanging almost upside down on rich pink budleia flower A black, red and white Red Admiral butterfly feeds on a depleted budleia flower

Tried a Colin Woodward watercolour pencil tutorial today, as I really like his work and channel. Not in my comfort zone at all, as I like to draw, but this kind of thumb nail sketch/paint thing is really enjoyable. Tutorial here youtu.be/1pAJd3qxqQI?...
A bright blue sea meets the beach at cove at Tranarossan Bay in Co. Donegal. The beach is very light and d the hills of the headlands reaching down to it are mottled green and brown. The little sketch was drawn in watercolour pencil which was then dampener with a flat brush.

A four year old me after my first hair cut sits in child’s wicker chair with legs crossed to the side. I wear a green checked jumper, a little kilt, white tights and burgundy shoes. The hairdresser said my hair was a purdie style but in truth it looks like a bowl cut.

Cool little grasshopper or cricket outside just now. Never saw one upright on glass like this before, I usually only see them on the ground.
