Finished my Meryl Styfe Cosplay just in time for the convention! It’s mostly a closet cosplay, but I hand embroidered the jacket.

When a cat lays on your sewing project, you cut the pattern out around her and let her keep chilling out on the remaining fabric.

I’ve been fighting with the embroidery on this cosplay jacket for months. After several failed pattern transfer attempts, the results were puckered and uneven. I’m trying tracing the design onto stick-on interfacing as a last resort. Here goes something!

Here’s to the hideous mock-ups made from mismatched remnants that help make a final product that will actually fit. We couldn’t do it without you! This is a practice draft for my new cosplay, coming sometime this fall! Bonus points if you can guess the character.

This one’s for the elder nerds: the 90’s “Beetlejuice” cartoon version of Lydia Deetz! I loved patterning and sewing the poncho and if to play around a bit more with wig styling.

One of my favorites that comes out almost every convention: Kaylee Frye! The jumbos one that I altered and added patches to, and the shirt was made by me. The fabric for the shirt was from Spoonflower.
The parasol was an experiment in freehand painting that paid off!

My first big make of 2025: a custom fit dress form! I used the customizable pattern from Bootstrap Fashions.
