I've had pretty good luck maintaining some connections via steam, and linkedin of all places, but I 1000% miss the days when we could all just huddle in a group chat and be buds.
A lot of people also went down the vtuber rabbit hole too, so wandering through twitch is possible.

Yeah totally! My life got better, I wasn't able to get christmas cards out this past like... decade, but I want to reconnect with folks. We're all online, we just grew into different online spaces. I think we can all reconnect mostly. Some people seem famous though, so maybe it's hard for them.

Waterfox is the fork of firefox that's good and cross platform with all the firefox extensions/bells and whistles. It's been the alternative version of choice for like 20 years.

Slightly related, but I was reintroduced to internet radio. Apparently while we all left and moved on to other things, they never stopped keeping the airwaves alive.

Many in the US will cite MMPR, I'll agree, but there was a surge of similar that helped to cement toku as a genre in itself for me. Masked rider, SSSS, and ultraman. Beetleborgs. Along with similar anime.

I don't think deleting it ever worked. I deleted mine a long time ago, and then somehow, when signing onto spotify, that brought it all back. I think they still have all the account data, they just remove your access to it and play dumb.

I think mahjong is in a strange state of play. People will learn it online, where the interfaces are rich. They could always fall back to IRL analog but the interfaces are worse, and there's a semi-NSFW anime filter for that initial online experience that self-selects for a certain personality type.
