Certes, il existe un populisme de gauche et en France, la recherche suggère qu'il est incarné par LFI (autant que par le RN, voir Ivaldi, 2018, Urbanska et al., 2021).

9/9 Last point, our research highlights the unique role of group-based contempt in predicting support for violence (and unlike anger, this link is not spurious). Thus, if you hear about research suggesting that " X " explains violent extremism, check if the confound due to activism is considered! 😅

8/9 this analysis relies heavily on: Moskalenko & McCauley (2009). Measuring political mobilization: the distinction between activism and radicalism. For more details and a review of existing evidence, see:

6/9 Our expectation is confirmed (Table S10 supp materials). GRD predicts radicalism (replicating past research) but this correlation is due to the fact that both of these variables share some relationships with (non-violent) activism.
April 6, 2025 at 3:34 PM
4/9 Instead, COMRAD suggests that, as a general rule, GRD predicts support for non-violent activism, which in turn can lead to radicalism if the activism fails or is repressed (see Fig 1; many thanks to my co-authors, a highly skilled team of researchers and fine colleagues @cbadea.bsky.social
April 6, 2025 at 3:34 PM
3/9 The research challenges previous claims that GRD directly predicts violent radicalism (as proposed for ex. in Psychological Science, 2019):

2/9 The main contribution: the development and (initial) validation of a Comprehensive Model of the role of GRD in violent radicalism (COMRAD).
The model was empirically tested in the context of Muslims/non-Muslims relations in France but may be relevant to other contexts as suggested here.

Among disadvantaged groups, can Group Relative Deprivation (GRD), perceiving the ingroup to be unfairly deprived compared to an outgroup, account for group mobilization? For ex., is GRD important to account for women's participation in (normative) collective action? YES!
