I wanted a semi-realistic black chick that actually looks like a black chick at the core, not just a skin color change. Can't really find that anywhere, though, so I had to do it myself. All of it.

She was locked away for many years.
She was begging to be free.
No longer will she bare the shackles.
She is finally me.

Self doubt, asking myself if it's real, asking myself if I made a mistake. But... every time I did I just went back to the same conclusion: yes, I should do this. I should embrace myself by taking this path. I shouldn't hold myself back anymore. I shouldn't remain dormant.

2+ years of HRT. 2+ years of self embrace. 2+ years of figuring out something about myself finally. 2+ years of finally being me. Hasn't been the easiest journey. Frustrating at times. Worrisome even. Questioning myself if it's even worth it, if it's worth the trouble.

I don't usually talk about my trans status since it's not something I care to talk about. It's not my identity or a personality trait; it just happens to be part of who I am, my journey in this life. But I did want to talk about it just this once as two days ago marks 2 years.
