Philosopher. Curmudgeon. Nerd.
American here. Can we get one of those "anti-corruption" thingies I keep reading about?

So you're saying that marketers are required to promote all materials sold by their vendors? There a law that says that? Like how bakers have to make cakes for gay weddings?

Can we get a skeletal bluebird logo?

Like Donald Trump?

Everyone saying he's too far gone to feel the burn hasn't been paying attention. I've seen him squirm. Sure, he sold his soul but he hasn't lost his mind.

Unlike many on Bluesky, I agree with you, Chris. This is bad, it says bad things about the people who did it, and it makes the left look bad. People fighting the MAGA movement need to own it, and show how it won't happen again. And, yes, it *IS* news, and we need to be in front of it.

This site tends to skew too hard left to acknowledge when the other side does the right thing, so this will not be a popular opinion. I, for what it's worth, heartily agree. If we had faced the same situation with Vance in that chair, would the Republic have survived? Courage should be recognized.

... the last few days. But all the days since 2014 to now, well ...

What an idiot.

Mission failed successfully?

Good on you. Fight the good fight. 👍

Is this Cherokee County, GA? They're are Dems here?!

My man Ossof is running for reelection right now in a state carried by Trump. Support him, if you can.

That's called an "ad hominem" attack, and goes not strengthen your argument.
March 12, 2025 at 9:24 PM
It's called, "Reason", not "Hysterics". Just because something is bad doesn't mean you have to lose your mind.
March 12, 2025 at 4:19 PM
"We will not survive this", is a self-fulfilling prophecy. *I* absolutely do not intend to let me the bastards take me out.

On the other hand, I've never seen Steve before. Distinguished!

I hope Canadians see this and speed up the demise of the platform.

Don't think it can't happen here.

Please correct me if this is outdated, but a little googling tells me that NPR gets less 1% of its funding from the feds. The CPB will be hurting, but I think NPR will be better off once the right wing loses this particular threat.

NPR is literally the best place on Earth to find objective reality.

Testify, Chris! Constant outrage destroys one's credibility with the convincable middle. While there are plenty of good reasons to be angry, it isn't helpful and it makes those of us in the opposition look shrill.

And Bluesky really doesn't need another angry lefty. That voice is well covered.

Competition is good. And I think American firms will find they have some built in advantages in not having to alter the algorithm to please the Chairman. Probably.

Many of them are, in fact, not legal. Some, like his moves on birthright citizenship, are already in court.
January 26, 2025 at 10:11 PM
Not really. This is just a case of opposing nationalists
