Midwestern guy trying to make sense of it all.
If things are hard for ordinary people, the GOP says suck it up and settle for less, but when the wealthy are a little less wealthy because of a tax or fee, they scream bloody murder.

When the proposal is to raise taxes on the affluent and wealthy, the response from Republicans is, “How dare you!”, but when ordinary people have to settle for less, that’s to be expected, because they are “ordinary”.

Boy when it’s “In 2018 private citizen Joe Biden loaned his brother money and then his brother paid him back and that’s presidential corruption” they are all for rampant speculation, but with Trump they’re not ready to accept clear-as-day facts without reading every document and the footnotes.

When a federal prosecutor indicts someone with the last name Trump, then you can say it was like this under Biden.

Isn’t this solicitation of a bribe? Of, wait, I forgot the Supreme Court ruled that presidents can’t commit crimes while in office.

Does he expect us to believe someone who has done nothing wrong would just accept an undeserved dismissal? Not accepting a dismissal one thinks is unjust is hardly evidence of bad conduct.

Man, for a party that has won 2 of the last three presidential elections, Republicans sure complain a lot about how rigged elections are and how people shouldn’t trust their reported results.

You know, Mike Johnson doesn’t have to be Speaker of the House to pray. His prayers would be just as helpful if he were replaced with a Democratic speaker who believed it was their job to use the full powers of the office to help the American people, and not “just pray”.

Could have ended this headline at “Trump says he has no evidence.” That applies to . . . well everything.

A form of government with deals could be called a democracy. A form of government with limits on power could be called a republic. There is a word for the form of government where one person dictates policy, but I can’t remember what that is. What is the label for someone who governs by dictates?

The punishment of crimes needs to be public. Even if the government is 100% sure someone is guilty, even if that person confesses, they can’t just extract them to a foreign country. The victims of those crimes and the public are entitled to hear the confession and participate in sentencing.
