Sustainability, water, energy, ecology, biodiversity, business, planning, writing and photography, sometimes all at once!

Work stuff on LinkedIn, photography on Flickr.
And finally this is the design mocked up as an actual book.
It’s not perfect and I have plenty of room to grow. They say that if you’re not embarrassed by your early work you haven’t really progressed, that’s something to look forward to… 😂 Either way it was lovely to reread the series! (3 of 3)

The story features a tooth shaped rock that opens up to reveal a beautiful blue light leading to a magical world with a white wizard and a dark hooded figure who hides in grey fog and a teardrop shaped bracelet with a hint of the blue light inside. This is the overall design making a W. (2 of 3)

I’m doing a course on graphic design at the moment though I am not good at drawing. For the current module I had to design a book cover featuring a key letter from the title or the author. I picked The Weirdstone of Brisingamen by Alan Garner. This was my initial sketch! (1 of 3)

Happy New Year, may 2025 be filled with simple joy like the lovely lady I photographed on the shore of Windermere in September.

Had a few personal things to deal with so haven’t posted much but will be back in the New Year. I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday The Ivy recently and will leave you with the very best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and here’s to 2025, may it be a good year!

Just a couple of iPhone snapshots from Wednesday evening after my graduation ceremony in Bristol. It was a cold, crisp and beautifully clear evening and I was wishing I had my camera with me. Will have to go back just to visit next time.

I graduated from my Masters in Planning and Urban Leadership at UWE on Wednesday, fantastic couple of days in Bristol with my friend Anya. I love getting dressed up in these gowns, this was the third time and I wouldn’t say I won’t go for another in the future 😂

I’m now developing a book bringing all this together about water in the landscape using my photos and words, kind of a love letter to water.
So that’s me, looking forward to joining the fun as we emerge from the dust into positive blue sky! /End

Outside of professional life I am a photographer primarily focusing on water themes and I am currently studying graphic design too. I am also a writer with published articles around sustainability and green skills, a coaching book and card pack, some old horror short stories in anthologies. 4/

I think of myself as a generalist with specailisms but everything is rooted in water and sustainability. I work in water resources in the south of England (but keeping the day job stuff on LinkedIn) and have just completed an MSc in Planning and Urban Leadership with University for West England 2/

I think the moment I have been waiting for has come, the Xodus, and it looks like lots of great people are arriving here. I joined a while ago but haven’t posted much so far, wondering how it would all play out. I just followed a bunch of starter packs so time for an introduction! 1/
