Seedling Games (Alcyone)
@seedlinggames.bsky.social
I make tabletop RPG stuff. The most popular thing I've made has been Procedures to Discover the Path Ahead.

It ended up not being my last action in the game, because more people wanted in, but it ended by me adding beefstink to the union #over/under

From Sam's reaction, it occurred to me he probably had not had time to keep up with all the mop squad lore but if you're reading this you made a lot of people very happy

I feel like probably nothing quite like this will happen again, yeah

I do feel like in future games having like a PvP flag would be good

It's really cool that we had people who were almost entirely RP focused existing alongside the whole wargame thing, but I think that would work better with better OOC communication, which is really hard to do at this scale

although I guess the fact that we both decided to take like murder levels of violence off the table meant that we could have three days of running around plotting against each other so that was actually a plus

knowing you only as Thatch, "i am integrating into your social circles Now" sounds a little ominous

There was another moment when I was in a private thread with a bunch of other players and we all said we were willing and ready to die for each other and it was a really emotional moment you can only get if you think your character might die

I am very glad for one that you decided to play the game that way, it really made the whole game for me. Even when I was about to go to sleep and then you barricaded yourself in your office

Oh hi Thatch lol

At the end me and another player were having a multi day really high stakes confrontation and most of the reason it didn't go violent I think is because the bystanders were clearly uncomfortable with it - both me and my opponent were very much on board I think

It's a very difficult thing to negotiate in such a large game. In a small game the possibility of death gives things real stakes but also it is much easier to communicate OOC about whether or not you want it in a game

It wasn't the wargame in the sense that I personally never ordered a single act of violence

More sort of the social wargame though

It's also I think a side of the game which a lot of people who were not involved in kind of resented. I'm going to need to think carefully about how to be fair to all the people involved.

One thing that's going to make the blog post interesting to write is that I played a radically different game of #over/under than most of the people who have been talking about it on bluesky or who are likely to write a blog post. It's going to be complicated to explain.

I've stayed away from the yuri due to being not comfortable RPing romances with strangers but still have somehow managed to have no end of heartbreak (in a good way) and a slightly bittersweet ending (in a good way)

I've uncovered the truth, resolved most of the long standing issues I was elected to solve (and caused a few new ones), had the inevitable falling-out with my oldest friend on the station, finally got to use the anti-water I've been hanging onto forever, and made peace with the things I can't change
