FR!! The Canaries' reaction to Mithrun getting up at the end said it all for me lol. Getting down on his level and telling him they want him to live a good life was never a thought to any of them. I love dm's narrative of "life is short, tell the people you care about how you feel" so much

Mithrun's mental treatment during his recovery was so interesting to me! I can't help but wonder if he would've reacted differently if Milsiril had thought to train him against the demon from the start, and if he was ever rly spoken to during his 20 yr long catatonic state,,,

I have to assume that Mithrun's knowledge about dungeons was Canary education, not strictly stuff he picked up as a dm. It's so interesting to me if she does have intimate knowledge about dark magic and the root cause of dungeons and /still/ didn't tell Kabru any of it, even when he left her.

And how did she become so adept at sword fighting?? Mithrun says in that extra that she's the most adept at sword fighting in the whole unit, she comes from a military family, Milsiril what happened to you!!!! Why are you so scared!!!!

That's the other thing that fascinated me. How does she feel about the fact that Kabru is so terrible at dungeon crawling but is incredibly adept at harming humans? (This isn't me trying to say Kabru is bad/wrong for his skills, or that he's overly cruel, but it's not what he set out to learn!!)

But it's so fascinating to me how the first thing she did when Kabru wouldn't give up on learning about dungeons was teach him to fight humans. Did she teach him literally anything about dungeons? How many times before the events of dunmeshi did Kabru die in a dungeon? Does Milsiril know?

Of course, I can also see it as she was going to teach him about monsters and he left before she could, their lifespans too different for her to understand how much time she was taking from him

Someone so thoroughly entrenched in the knowledge of how dungeons come to be, how they work and how they fall. She's not fearful of any of that. She's terrified of other elves, other humans, and her biggest fear is that her child will be hurt by those people before he ever comes close to a monster.

But they have to know how to kill them to direct the prisoners, right? I doubt she didn't know. Idk, I think it's so interesting in a manga where the only points of view we're shown are from young adventurers. To have someone so intimately familiar with dungeons on a level above an adventurer,

Like I think I forget sometimes that she was the vice captain of the Canaries. There is something to be said about the way the Canaries fight, where I assume that wardens stay out of danger and direct the prisoners, and therefore probably wouldn't fight monsters themselves

And I only think these things stopped briefly after Milsiril took over because of the all encompassing desire to have the demon kill him. It was so distracting to him that all his other symptoms got put on hold while he hyper fixated on becoming the buffest elf in the world to kill that mf lmfao

Further than this though, the negative aspects of his recovery also interest me. Uncontrollable bouts of anger, harming himself, and inappropriate emotional responses are all possible imo if he manages to curb his apathy and I think that intersecting with an actual desire to recover is *chef's kiss

Most of the hobbies he tries are misses, but the fact that he's trying new things, however passively, ends up helping him find things he does feel an urge to do more of :3c (at Fleki's behest he tries weed and that's one of the hobbies that stuck lmfao)
