There are two nest boxes in Fowlmere, I have seen barn owls in them several times. (yes, I go around a lot looking for birds...)

In 2022, I saw one early in the morning off the DNA path, behind Shelford, there is an owl box. I could imagine there are some in Trumpington meadows, definitely around the river near Grantchester. They can be out during daylight in very cold weather, or when they're feeding chicks.
