Happy Easter! From a remote northern neck beach on public lands, Hughlett Point Natural Area Preserve.

An array of pine swamp, current ripples, bored wood, and bivalves for you! New birth within natural cycles abounds...and beauty in the midst of the craziness around us still exists.

So...the Forest Service tells you to NOT take the Byron Glacier Trail in winter due to avalanche risk.

Well...we did it anyway! Warm winter with little snow, so it was a calculated risk.

What an experience on the easiest trail imaginable. Climate change is melting glaciers here really rapidly...

I'm thrilled to have been accepted to be a part of NASA's Climate Change Research Initiative Educator Ambassador SMD Program. I'm looking forward to working with other intrepid climate change educators in the next year while learning to better harness NASA data for my classroom and for outreach.

My first time at AGU! Relieved to be here. It's a chance to nerd out, present our online historical Geology text at www.opengeology.org, and get a break from the day to day.

I'm representing my school, Massanutten Regional Governor's School , and also Laurel Ridge Community College.
