This is Bill, aka William S Morganstern, the most perfect adventure cat ever, who departed this plane in 2021.

I was just reading Sally Huband’s essay “Field Notes” in @louisekenward.bsky.social ‘s excellent collection Moving Moving Mountains, and she has a similar plan.

My intrusion leaves a gaping hole and I always feel a little guilty. I would like to find an out-of-sight place, somewhere safe where I could lie naked on a carpet of sphagnum and let the warm softness of the moss soothe my aches. Somewhere hidden where I could leave an imprint of my body on the surface of the bog. There are times when I wish I could fold myself into the bog like a guillemot folds itself through the surface of the sea, in a single graceful movement that leaves little trace.

A planned parenthood doctor told me I should have an unwanted pregnancy because her (mild) symptoms disappeared after HER pregnancy. I finally found a doctor who specialized in trans care after moving to a progressive state. The day I got my hysterectomy was the best day of my life.
