*90% of a handful of well-paid managers who objected to a democratically agreed progressive pay claim made during a cost of living crisis, and who were then quickly recognised by UCU SMT, because existing recognition agreements are meaningless to a trade union employer.

Or, put another way, at least a quarter of UCU staff are so pissed off with the way they’re being treated by UCU management that they’re prepared to go on strike. Remove SMT and their GMB drinking buddies from this equation and it’s an even more damning indictment of what’s going on.
