I read Trust by Hernán Díaz & hated it. The Bevels' lives, relationships, & fates are not worth the read. The book had no texture & no subtext, no characters to emphasize with, & really, nothing to redeem it. Period schlock, writer naval gazing, & mailed-in effort- Hernan must know this already.
