You spent so long on if you could secure a system, you failed to ask if you should secure a system
the first time in history mean tweets and doom posting have actually impacted anything. Good job, us!

They see it as retaliation. They have such a poor time managing their own anxieties that they blame the rest of us for it and are out for what they see as revenge. If only we didn't make them feel the way they do they wouldn't have to XYZ. With a splash of "youre all like me and hiding it"

yeah but they still think the slop box is going to replace us. waiting for the next breach to instruct them otherwise

just a blue belt, but can confirm cops feel like wrestling a 2x4 and their nervous system is constantly wired to where they react like they're dying

empathy is hard. They're really not watching you back. They'd have to know how you think and see the world, and empathize sufficiently to guess your interests and hobbies. If they had theory of mind and empathy sufficient to do that, they'd be normal prosocial people.

OPSEC is hard. A lot of hackers can't resist the urge to brag for social clout. I guarantee you violent extremists are running their mouths online. Starting from general affinity groups, filtering by location and pivoting inward can yield both targets and confederates

Correlational signals: League of Legends doesn't make you a .cn hacker, but most .cn hackers like LoL. Similarly, violent misogyny doesn't make you an extremist, but most American extremists have a lengthy history of issues with girls and women.

Weak signals that can be aggregated to a strong attribution signal include companies that give deep discounts to .gov: Oakley, 5.11 tactical, Go ruck, UnderArmour. Wearing one? You have bad taste. Wearing all 4 plus a goatee? You're state or federal LE and probably unvaccinated

I'm inclined to change my location to MN and hop on Grindr. Personally agents on there should be reported for violence.

It would be a better world for all of us if ceos were smart enough to be that evil. I assure you they think of nothing else but 1. the end of the current quarter and 2. what are all their friends doing?

So many of us are out of work right now. A little OSINT teamwork feels more productive than cramming for another interview where they want me to be a "director" with architect building skills to manage outsourced contractors for 20% under market salary
January 10, 2026 at 2:33 AM
Remember that book Top Secret America where they used public postings by contractors to unmask .mil/intel programs? High time threat intel people work with journalists to look at the footprint of contractors servicing DHS

I suspect financial incentives ensure they won't. Some wearables could have outstanding niche use cases, esp in accessibility tech. But that wouldn't give hyperscaler growth that investors are looking for, so we get a niche product with broad marketing and fuzzy application
January 8, 2026 at 6:18 PM
Do they not use their own products? They're really opening up their own financial data to slop box exfiltration? Somebody get their General Counsel out of his coffin. I get not caring about other people's security but jeezum pete

There are absolute correct answers to all of these opinion based questions, and you had best believe they're super relevant to my ability to manage 15 mediocre MSSP contractors in Mumbai
