Yeah makes sense. I've read that trying to engage the whole posterior chain will juice Vo2 max gains, so will be attempting that this weekend with some horrific kettlebell swings + breath control haha

I ran (lol) into problems with my back once I started chasing higher tempo, hitting back and core has been a gamechanger. Still sprinkle in more standard lower/upper body stuff as well, but back & ab exercises were the most impactful. Next step is try and boost my VO2max, which is exhausting

Yeah for sure! For me Emerald/Platinum were my favourites, so I'm definitely a bit harsher when assessing the remakes. I'm sure that it's not the last we've seen of Gen 4 (legends arceus was very good)

Only real issue I have with those remakes was the lack of any siginficant improvements to be honest, when I compare to ORAS the difference is night and day. I've made my peace with Nintendo, and have accepted Pokemon mainline games are just going to continue to be formulaic kids games, which is fine
