blessed to have managed to make the meet and greet for meemaw. i thought i was being a paranoid schizophrenic showing up 45 minutes early, but it turns out guys that showed up an hour and a half early wouldn't have made it if she didnt completely blow past her timeslot of 30m to almost 2 hours...

another big improvement was incorporating the itasha display indoors by artist alley. last year, it was banished to the corner of a parking lot outside. highlights were seeing the hime 86 and the minto pinto. fantastic commitment to the bit, owner was also super chill to talk to

one marked improvement was the cutouts: i was absolutely geeking seeing official race queen art of clara and airi after having drawn them in rq outfits myself. and the fan made cutouts were incredibly funny to see

new venue had its pros and cons. its way bigger and that took stress off getting into concerts and stuff, but the free mingling vibe of gen 3's atrium is very dead. i had a lot more fun chatting with people in artist alley or the unending phase booth line than "atrium 2.0"

drive up was relatively uneventful. bathroom stop in LA required buying some garbage from a thrift store, so I got a friend a laser disc of mandarin karaoke songs and a vinyl of canadians singing stereotypical italian songs...? then there was whatever the hell caused this detour on the I5
