i don't know where you come from politically to say them but since im guessing it's about american hegemony and maybe a case for a multipolar world i'd like to point out that so far in history we haven't seen a major power which pursues this instead of demanding fielty

.. the notion that it's just virtue signaling too to me is a reflection of how much many things are now just a given, i think this is just a testament that sometimes it just fails, especially now when the powers responsible for it are no longer actors who care

....i don't know how it's neolib, and global institutions where countries sacrifice some parts of its sovereignty is very much apart of the liberal rules based world order which came in the same bag as the pax americana did

hi I think this is a mixed bag

international laws definitely derive from liberal values, and yes as america became the world's hegemon it did impose it onto the rest of the world and saw itself as a power to enforce those values....

Despite this it doesn't necessarily mean they are at all tolerant of minorities. You'd see the same rhetoric by religious extremists or/and criminal paramilitaries. It really is a bar for everyone to pass in order to operate in this nationwide theater of conformity.

It's very hard to describe or define to people not observing it closely but Indo politicians say things palatable for outsiders very often, especially surrounding pancasila & in particular unity in diversity but atomizes any real meaning by having it as the sole rhetoric said.
