I have been following AP for a while hoping the above statement is true. Last week article after article that spoke about the shutdown, the headlines were all centered on Ds as if they were responsible for all of it. Some were nuanced. But the implication was it was a D shutdown. Why was that?

Kevin posts a lot of facts and links to articles. I think he should be allowed to also speak his opinion. Silence is complicity and I think he, like you, maybe all want a better world than the one we are in now.

And all that good will she had gathered evaporated by the time 11/7 came along. Newsom is doing the same R leaning now. 3 years before the election! It doesn't bode well for how far R he will be by November 2028. So we have to be vocal. Extremely to let them know that leaning R is not the strategy.

I absolutely agree that people should not have sat out the vote this last election. I early voted because I was excited about Harris. However, as I have begun to see with clearer eyes, after my early vote Harris did exactly everything that lost Clinton the vote. She leaned to the right a lot.

He did highlight what good he is doing in this political fight. Vote Blue No Matter Who crowd is why we are here now. This is absolutely the time to start discussing this! Dems should unite by the time elections come, but we need to push our politcians to be their best selves now. Not settle later.

Agreed! To your critics, we need to speak loudly about our non starters now. Tell them why we wouldn't vote for them so that maybe they change their views or so we can elevate candidates who aren't so compromised from the start. Its defeatist to just nod along to whatever they throw at us.

Happy birthday!! 🥳🥳🥳

Thank you for that. We are all doom scrolling these days. I think we all mostly know who is supporting what and follow accordingly. I appreciate the tranquil moment your posts inspire. Anyone who requires you to be spiralling about their particular cause at all times can just not follow.

I don't know. This last minute grandstanding they do only when it's absolutely evident that whatever they claim they oppose will definitely pass is starting to feel like they are just playacting a opposition party. Its as empty as Murkowski's "opposition" to the bill she voted for.

It's like these men were like "well if T can be president and is a shit person and I'm a shit person who had to leave politics for being a shit person, maybe people will vote for me now because I'm a shit person." And I really hope that Dem voters aspire for more rather than settle for even less.

I am super hopeful to be pleasantly surprised by the way the NYC mayor race goes. Zohran v Cuomo is this very question in reality. I believe our only way forward to candidates like Zohran. Young, truly progressive, who know what living in this country is like in the now, not 30 years ago.

Trump would rather people support someone like Newsom because he'll keep the money in the family than someone like Zohran Mamdani. Dems in NYC are moving towards candidates like him. And we can't have that. We need those old school politicians who keep the status quo.

The simplification of support for Palestine = hate for Jews only benefits Israel. A lot of pro Palestine supporters do not hate Jews. They hate the Israeli government. It benefits the Israel gov because then it makes it difficult to judge them and also easier for them to continue attacking Palestine

I honestly think this escalation of violence against Jews in America is being pushed by Republicans. They are working so hard to make it illegal for anyone to criticize Israe. But popular opinion still sides with Palestinians. They can't have that. So how do you turn people against them?

It's responses like this that lead me to believe that they are confident that they won't have to hold an election again. Like they don't care about our opinion or thoughts about them. They don't expect that we can do anything about it.
