Custom firmwares for camera's definitely exist but i've yet to see one where you can write plugins for :(
quick idea would be connecting it to a 2nd device and then having something on there sending settings based on the sensor output though it would only work for mirrorless.
Sounds fiddly. but idk

YEAAAAAH! I only recently got to work with SWAM instruments but its such a joy. Especially when i started figuring out how to hook up my EWI to it all

From what i remember trying it out a little while ago the audio pipeline is very much like mac's blackhole or jackRouter on windows. Way nicer than using an ASIO in my opinion.
VST's seem to work fine but still need a wrapper for the most part which might be a little inconvenient.

This is basically where I'm at right now with my education. Doing research into my own work for a performance and I'm finding that dipping more into experimental is so much more fun to play with.
Now only to be able to let go of my classical teachings :')

Europe has a fundamental difference in road design. Different rules, narrower suburban roads, etc. Im Dutch and my neighbour has an F150. Its massive and makes me hate backing out of the parking lot. However ive seen different places in the world, like the US, where there use makes much more sense.
