John has been untangling a skein of yarn for me for more than 2 hours. Merry Christmas!

I am certain I bought some hot neon pink yarn, but I can’t find which stashlet it’s hiding in.

Is anything not horrifying right now? Good grief.

I just want you to know that the theme for our family Xmas this year is 1990 plaid turtlenecks/mock-necks. Bonus points for a monogram of some sort. Mine is black watch plaid.

It’s 8:30am on Thanksgiving, who already messed up cooking? Me. It was me. Fixable though.

@bethoutloud.bsky.social if I wanted to just dip the tiniest toe into dyeing so that when we tie-dye a tshirt or sweatshirt it stays as vibrant as it looks with dye before washing, what should I read? (Or know or buy?)

I just saw a handwritten 8x10 sign on a stake in the ground on the side of a beltway ramp that said just “Epstein files”. It was like less than a foot off the ground. It was such a mousy little protest, but a protest no less. I do love this place.

Highly recommend making a big deal out of nothing for the little joy nugget. My family woke up wishing each other a Happy Bagel Day and I’m now happily enjoying a banana nut bagel (I swear, it’s subtle and not sweet) with veggie cream cheese.
My favorite bagel place is opening a location a mile from me on Monday and this is the kind of news I’m expecting to keep me going.

Told my parents to make sure their outside tasks are done before dusk. No, not because of “rampant crime” in DC (not a thing), because the mosquitos in the area tested positive for West Nile.

At least the peaches have been good this summer.

People will say “you’re in my prayers” but no one ever says “you’re in my 5am worries” and that’s a shame. (As I add several people to my 5am worries.)

A family friend of 30+years (my sister’s middle school and onward BFF) is moving back to DC area from Singapore and can’t travel with her cat. So her cat is coming a day or two earlier and my parents are picking up cat at the airport and taking care of her.

I’m really way too excited that we are having the outside of our house washed today. Goodbye algae on the siding! Goodbye weird shutter shadows on the brick. I am so old.
