The Lavender Names Project is an archival research project that collects photos and stories of members of the LGBTQ+ community who were systematically discriminated against by the government or military, from the “Lavender Scare” in the 1950s, to “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” in the 1990s, to today.

The Veterans Choir performed selections like "Rainbow Connection" and "Put a Little Love in Your Heart," as well as the "Kazoo Concerto" and "Armed Services Medley," in a program to honor and celebrate LGBTQ+ Veterans.

These pups are all in the "puppy raising" stage, where they'll spend 13-15 months with a "raiser" from Seattle Puppy Raisers before heading to guide dog training in California or Oregon. We're so glad we got to be a small part of their journey!

Live theater is a great opportunity for environmental socialization, where these future guide dog candidates can experience unusual sounds like soaring vocals and applause, and work on skills like settling for longer periods of time, ignoring distractions, polite greetings, and navigating crowds.
