There's nothing magical about swing voters, they're just people who have no lifelong views of their own. They happen to live in politically evenly-divided states with a lot of electoral-college weight, and tend to vote against whoever's in office when their unremarkable lives get uncomfortable.

Power is NEVER voluntarily handed by the powerful to the powerless. It is always seized by the believed-to-be-powerless, when they grow weary of the powerful taking undue advantage of them. This has nothing to do with "right" or "wrong," it's a pre-civilization fact of nature. Just saying....
