If you want to really go the old fogey route, I remember waiting for that signal in the bike wedge! www.google.com/maps/@47.665...

My favorite solution to this intersection: Delete Green Lake Way from Stone to 46th. It causes more problems for every road user than it solves. Yes, even car drivers. Then restore the street grid and using the reclaimed public land for housing.

The IBR design for Vancouver, WA, was the stuff of nightmares. It's 2026! We should know better than to do this to our cities.

I got this press release from CM Bob Kettle. What a joke. He’s fine with ICE’s mission, he just thinks they should be more professional about it. We need better leaders than this.

I’m quitting my job to become a full-time Transit Go points miner.

Ha! It works! $1.66 for a scooter ride (>.25mi and <5min), parked in a designated spot near the station, got a free 2hr adult light rail pass through Transit Go.

It's about three blocks in three different places. Here's the link to that permit's record: web.seattle.gov/dpd/edms/?re...

AI "news" is so fucking awful. Seattle Bike Blog has great search engine karma, so we often get "cited" in these slop stories. Here's one that just popped up about the Rad bankruptcy. Nearly all the figures in the piece are just plain wrong, but then the AI attributes the errors to us! Fuck this.

Anyone missing their 1899 Pope Manufacturing Columbia Model 59 with oil lamp lights? A PNW storage facility owner found one in a unit suspected of housing stolen goods. www.facebook.com/share/p/1BUL...

I use and highly recommend these simple ring locks (AKA cafe locks). By far the easiest and fastest way to secure your back wheel and have a second lock.

Strong advertisement for using a second lock! Looks like someone cut this tiny bar lock, but then gave up after realizing the bike also had a disk brake lock. Also, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a bicycle disk brake rotor lock. Fascinating idea.

The monthly special at @sticker-guy.bsky.social is a stop sign (white octagon sticker with red ink). What's your idea for a design to sell in the Seattle Bike Blog shop?

Oh no! I hate this. I hope they haven’t printed any of these blocky Space Needle pamphlets.

If you scroll down in the listing for a new model battery, there’s this in the FAQ:

Throwback: In 1976 a woman was pulled over and ticketed for biking on Greenwood Ave because she was not going the 35mph speed limit. She and @cascade.org challenged (and lost), and Seattle Police leaders told the Council that they should ban biking on city streets. The SPD spokesperson? Tim Burgess.

Of course the top comment is an e-bike hater. Unbelievable.
