my blue colony has become more of a black/blue/brownish colony ! i find the colour genetics of neos fascinating - i’m waiting for a random red shrimplet to be thrown out one day. i ALSO noticed a trend of female babies coming out black/black w/ blue and males being fully blue 🧐 #science

i started with blue shrimp about 4 or 5 generations ago in my first tank. i had a death mystery where my 40-odd shrimp colony was declining rapidly and only 4 made it over to the new (current) tank. one of those was a gigant-sterile-shrimp lady so i only had 3 to grow the colony again.. CUT TO NOW-
