Kev and Randy work their way through the Queen catalogue, one (random) song at a time.
I guess we'll just have to try to get the bottom of this with astute technical observations, rigorous and lengthy research, and detailed analysis of meter, counterpoint, and harmony. Or we could fuck around as we usually do and come up with a binary decision about art....

Well, almost 😉 It was writtin about Benmont Tench, Tom's keyboardist, who McKee had had a relationship with. Ben was still drinking A LOT during that period I believe and it wasn't a great ending!

It has that wonderful sprinkling of Jeff Lynne stardust to it too (the album). I honestly love every track on that record. I would have been 23 when it came out and in the midst of all the UK indie rock scene, yet Macca still manage to cut through the noise for me with a lush, layered masterpiece.

All lists are subjective of course, but I couldn't put any of the Beatles solo output above Band on the Run. That's a work that stands shoulder to shoulder with many of The Beatles' albums for me. Always loved Flaming Pie too. A underrated gem of a record.
