Moonraker seems odd today, but I remember seeing it as a kid and thinking nothing of it. Star Wars was huge (with Empire coming the next year), Star Trek, Black Hole, and Alien also all came out that year.... Along with Buck Rogers on TV. Outer space was making a comeback and my kid self loved it!

There still seems to be a real push in the tech field to find the magic formula to make AI investing worth the cost, yet there is little to no thought put into what that means.

I have never looked forward to the death of someone as much as I do this garbage person. It cannot come soon enough.

There is a manager in my office who cannot produce anything without AI, to the point where the other managers make fun of him pretty regularly. It's gotten so bad that last month when a long-timer retired, he emailed an obviously AI generated congratulatory letter. This future is doomed.

That guy who once got caught trying to sneak into the girls' locker room in high school is finally living his best, creeper life... 🤮

I have some very well-red digests from my own childhood. Will go through them to see what else I find. It's tough though, because most digests had 10-12 separate stories and you're talking about the plot to just one of those :)

Was thinking "Golden Nugget Boat" but Scrooge climbs a mountain to get a large "egg shaped" blob of gold, rather than an egg, and there is no zipline in the story.
