In search of Buddhist insights - a science of the mind
Pinned
Buddhism is about consistently investigating how things really are, not how they appear. In a sense, Buddhism is less a religion than a science of the mind.

Why is Buddhism helpful for understanding democracy? Due to the profound pervasiveness of human behavior based on the law of dependent arising.
This law describes, among other things, craving for the beautiful and rejecting the negative.

#Democracy and #Buddhism No2:

#ImmanuelKant was a great thinker, #Buddha a great explorer of the mind. Kant's ethics is based on rational reason, Buddha's on personal experience. Kant's ethics needs progress - Buddha's can also be used in times of crisis.

#Democracy and #Buddhism:
no direct relationship BUT
the deep knowledge of the human spirit provides clarity to understand today's world.
AND: #Buddha gave us an ethic -
we are all related to one another
or in other words - dependent arising

What is “Buddhism”.
The Buddha spoke of “Dharma”, what means both the truth and all practices, attitudes, views and behaviors that lead to the truth.
„Buddhism" doesn't fit into any of our containers: it is neither religious, nor secular, nor spiritual. It is... something else.
