George Gibney was in a wheelchair during his appearance at the US Federal courthouse in Orlando. He was dressed in navy prison clothing issued by Orange County jail. He had no glasses, and his lawyer told the court he was “in desperate need of glasses”. More on rte.ie/news

A US Federal court in Orlando has ordered th extradition to Ireland of former Olympic swimming coach George Gibney. Gibney had waived his right to contest the extradition proceedings. He has been remanded in custody until Irish authorities arrange for his transfer to Ireland.
