I am currently a sysadmin for a company and i have been in the IT field since i was 17. Now at 38 i can tell you, this is 100% true.

This SUCKS! Why do i still have to go to work when the entire country is crumbling down around my ears? If you are going to force us to live in a Mad Max style future, the least you could do is give me some time off to process.
