Also, Topaz and DeepPRIME arguably are *generative.* You can’t denoise without manufacturing pixels. I’m saying that *most* of my best photographic art *is* modified by AI at some point. I use it *constantly.*

You’re missing my point, which is that generative AI isn’t different than any other machine technology that is taking over the *craft* of art. It’s been happening for ages. The camera is just an example. Defining art by its *craft* is problematic. Defining art *at all* is wrought with difficulty.

But plenty of photographers *are* up in arms about not just denoising AI, but even the process of postproduction (eg photoshopping). And what about the ever increasing levels of automation inside the machine? My Fuji has a full auto mode—is that democratization, or is it a marginalization of craft?

Occasionally I use DxO’s DeepPRIME XD for demosaicing and denoising images, and Fujifim’s AI autofocus system for taking images. Would you say this voids my copyright? I don’t think it does, legally. 2/2

You’re assuming all AI to be equal. The situation is more subtle. Not all AI is image generating AI. Take, for example, photography. I use two AI systems in my photography workflow: 1/2
