I hate them using AI in general, but it's just insult to injury that it's the most basic ass Ghibli AI memes that don't even fit in the game

they couldn't even put a tiny bit of effort in

Okay where's my party? (Been meaning to do this for a while!)

In particular it bugs me when I see people commenting how they are standing up to an "evil" video game publisher by pirating their game.

Oh, so you're taking a stand by playing the game you wanted for free? So bold

"value-focused" or "value sensitive"? It's all about bang for your buck, after all, while still willing to spend a lot of bucks
October 2, 2025 at 6:14 PM
Very true haha Ubisoft has trained us to wait

I'm more mixed on Nintendo. In general I either buy at launch because I'm super excited, or wait for a sale. Most Nintendo games don't quite fit into the first category, but never go on sale.

I'd buy more Nintendo games if they went on sale, even 30%

Price sensitive but a big spender, ultimately. Not sure there's a good term for that.
October 2, 2025 at 5:51 PM
Fair. I guess we just consume more games overall. I'll be price sensitive and wait for sales for a dozen games a year, and buy full price day 1 for three or four games a year.
October 2, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Absolutely! I was just being silly.

It does beg an interesting question, though, as it seems like among hyper enthusiast discourse - people who follow you, talk about games on Reddit and Blue sky etc - tend to evangelize being a patient gamer.

I spend hundreds of dollars a year on 80% off games I barely play

Price insensitive bargain hunter?
October 2, 2025 at 5:14 PM
But I do agree yeah, I'm fine with a third party Xbox. I don't even have an Xbox - I mostly play on PC. New CoD launch will be the big test for this higher price and third party focus
October 2, 2025 at 3:53 PM
I felt that publishing on PlayStation but still trying to grow gamepass by keeping it high value was keeping both lanes open - trying to grow the Xbox platform (console, of, and cloud) while also being third party. I think there was opportunity to do both, but this signals the end of that
