idk man I think it depends
good point; however, I think the fact that she performed 3-4 points better in swing states than others is another indicator that her campaign was doing the work it needed to. she had three months to go from nothing to 48% of the popular vote; i’d like to see someone else’s campaign do better.

it definitely didn’t do them any favors. also, harris is currently at 74 million votes so the difference from biden is about 7 million now, with ~5 million less total votes.

history will look back on biden very favorably. for a one-term president, he was productive as hell.

i’d be willing to argue more people felt the impact of inflation and were dissatisfied than young progressives angry about gaza, but both played a role. the fact is harris performed 3-4 points better in swing states than normal states—that’s gotta count for something.

gas is 2.85 where I am. he’s already fixed most of the problems he’s blamed for

i’d love to know the nominal amount of people that chose not to vote for kamala harris because she accepted the cheneys’ endorsement (i’m guessing it’s very low). people are quick to blame harris’s failure on the thing that irks them personally rather than what actually sways/turns away voters

4-8 years is certainly enough time to get the economy back on the right track, it’s just that if voters don’t feel the results RIGHT AWAY they’re quick to blame the incumbent for everything. it’s why biden’s approval rating was highest when he was sending out stimulus checks.
