This…thank you for this reminder. I’ve been saying “If Obama…” but the fact is, he didn’t and wouldn’t. He will go down as the last president before it descended into complete chaos with 45/47. 🤦🏽♂️

4. The US is very divided and I think they swung for the fences explaining what Trek is to remind Americans of what unity, not division, can look like. Yes, Trek speaks to broad audiences and it is myopic and selfish to think that speech was just about the US—and I know it’s not.

3. I think it’s because we have a shorter season, they are pushing time forward faster than what we are used to with 22 episodes. 4) The wall breaks with Trek. In the same way you got the Late Show/Night reference, I think that’s what the writers were going for this time.
