When it comes to D&D editions, 5 has seemed the simplest to me. I can't compare to entirely different TT systems, but for D&D... Yeah. Go with 5e if you're new.

Dorien's story arc is my favourite in DA:I. Feels weighty and serious, while shining a light on a unfortunate circumstance, but isn't preachy or overboard.

It's also far too 'get-along-gang'. Doesn't seem to matter what dialog options you choose, companions either approve or nothing. You never see "so-and-so disapproves"
