While it’s true that they consulted people with disabilities about the benefit, they forget to point out that they ignored all the recommendations. They should be promising to do better, not singing their praises. #disability #canada

It’s #IDPD (International Day of People with Disabilities). Today, I celebrated by discussing the “othering” that goes on in disability service.
By which I mean, lots of our team experience #disability, but they don’t acknowledge it because their barriers don’t feel significant compared to others.

I took an English class. When the midterm essay came, I asked if I could use my phone as a timer, because people with ADHD can’t perceive time well.
