(Though, in fairness, much of the responsibility for this financial situation lies with decades of USC’s administrators ignoring what was happening on their campus…)

And if people want to call universities radical hubs of anything, I feel like they should be required to sit in on a faculty meeting. Any faculty meeting.

What seems like disorganised chaos seems more like a calculated push to disassemble the welfare state, privatise everything, and create a disempowered labour force: a scenario where racists and billionaires (where the Venn diagram isn’t a circle) win big.

It’s a mistake to underestimate Trump and his backers, or to confuse the man and the mission.
